Skin-tone pigmentation to soften the appearance of scars.
Scar camouflage — sometimes called scar revision tattooing, scar paramedical tattooing or skin re-pigmentation — is a specialised paramedical technique that uses skin-toned cosmetic pigment to soften the visual appearance of scars. The goal is to make the scarred area blend more naturally with the surrounding skin tone, so the eye no longer goes straight to the scar.
This treatment is part of Lorraine's paramedical practice. Common areas she works on include mastectomy scars (often combined with areola restoration), breast reduction and lift scars, abdominoplasty scars, surgical scars from orthopaedic or other procedures, self-harm scars, and stretch marks. Scars need to be at least 12 months mature and stable in colour before treatment.
Scar camouflage requires careful colour matching to your specific skin tone, often built up over 2–4 sessions to layer pigment gradually. Each session is typically 60–90 minutes. Scars must be fully mature (12+ months for surgical, often longer for severe scarring) and have stable colour before treatment can begin. Results soften the scar's appearance significantly but don't eliminate it entirely.
